Welcome to the Twin Cities: Minneapolis-St. Paul

The combined population for the Twin Cities area is almost 4 million people over 11,000 square miles, making it the 14th largest population center in the US. But make no mistake, these are two distinct cities, each with its unique, individual charms.

Minneapolis-St. Paul as a whole is a great place to work. It offers career professionals a vibrant economy, with low unemployment, relatively high wages and modest housing costs, making it an extremely livable metropolis. The Twin Cities are also home to 17 Fortune 500 companies.

Both cites boast the number one and two park systems in the US, though they often trade places for top honors (Minneapolis currently ranks #1). Besides the outstanding park systems, city dwellers also enjoy one of the most active metropolitan lifestyle in the country, more than 22 lakes, professional sports teams, an unrivaled public transit system, a high literacy rate, and a spirited and diverse food scene.

Minneapolis

Known as “The City of Lakes and the “Mini Apple,” Minneapolis is a thoroughly modern metropolis, with the brightly lit skyscrapers, cultural landmarks, and nightlife you expect from “big city” living. It is a place where critically acclaimed shows, restaurants and museums mesh with the natural beauty of lakes, trails and parks. In fact, Minneapolis is ranked nationally time and time again for cleanliness, safety, health, and being an all-around great city to live in.

St. Paul

St. Paul is the state capital and touts itself as the “Most Livable City in America.” Whether you're looking for hockey, history or hops, you’ll find them all here. Locals like to take advantage of St. Paul’s top-ranked park system, including downtown’s Rice Park, which is older than Central Park in NYC. Other diversions include numerous museums, festivals, historical sites, and trendy restaurants and fashionable boutiques along Grand Avenue.
